Things to do in October half term in Dorset

Halloween is well covered in the series of half term events in Dorset but if you don't like ghosts and ghouls, or even pumpkins, October also sees nature and history celebrated with half term activities.

Chesil Half-Term Bird Bonanza

26th Oct - 3rd Nov

Explore the wonders that our wildlife around us have to offer. Find out about how to look after your garden birds this half term with the Dorset Wildlife Trust. Lots of fun activities getting the children immersed in the experience.

Half Term at The Tank Museum

26th Oct - 3rd Nov

This October Half Term experience a rally car display from Future Terrain, every weekday at 1pm in the Museum arena, plus Meet the Crews. See a 10 foot tall temporary poppy sculpture, for Remembrance. Get involved with special half term activities, like Paint a Tank and Meet Blackjack, a WWI Cavalry Horse. Try on uniforms and handle the kit that would have been used by cavalry soldiers. Other talks and tours include getting inside a Chieftain Main Battle Tank and learning about Tommy in the Trenches. Half Term of Corfe Castle

26th Oct - 3rd Nov

Head along to Corfe Castle for a truly Medieval Half Term. Watch Trebuchet launches throughout the day, and try on some traditional clothing and turn into a handsome knight or a beautiful maiden. Great fun for all the family on a jam packed day out at the castle.

Spooky Fun at Lulworth Castle

27th - 30th Oct

Lulworth Castle has a host of spooky fun activities going on throughout the 4 days. Going on adventures through big piles of leaves or having a bounce or two on the bouncy castle (weather permitting), there is no way any childermonsters are going to get bored this half term. You can book tickets in advance or on the day.

Halloween at Farmer Palmer's Farm Park

28th Oct - 1st Nov

Transform to a spook-tacularly fang-tastic monster with face paint and help out around the farm feeding some of the animal and getting to cuddle others. A fabulous day out for those animal loving little monsters.

Don't forget to find yourself somewhere safe (and non-spooky) for a half term in Dorset.

Things to do in Bournemouth

There is so much to see and do that I have narrowed down the selection to my top two places to visit, which can both be seen in one day if you’re on a short visit, or equally spread out over several days if you’re on a longer holiday in Bournemouth.
