Things to do

May events in Devon

With summer on the horizon, Devon is gearing up for the excitement and energy that comes with the warmer weather. Bask in the sunshine on the beach or take a hike through Devon’s lush green countryside. There’s plenty to do indoor and out throughout May.

Why not start your summer activities a little earlier and plan a bank holiday break? There are two in May so you’re spoilt for choice for when to head away. Find a hideaway at the heart of the rolling green hills or choose a more metropolitan spot on the waterfront of one of Devon’s bustling seaside towns. Gather together all the family and book a trip during the school holidays to spend that precious time making memories with your favourite people.

Take your pick of things to do with our list of Devon events:

5th to 7th May: Exeter festival of South West food and drink

5th to 7th May: Brixham Pirate festival

11th to 13th May: Dart music festival

12th to 13th May: Plymouth pirate weekend

17th to 19th May: Devon County show

25th May to 3rd June: Exmouth festival

26th May: Lord Mayor’s Day in Plymouth

27th to 28th May: Dartington Food fair

26th May to 3rd June: Half term activities at Pennywell Farm

After a day exploring the county, retire to your beautiful home from home to relax, cook a tasty dinner and drink a glass of wine by the fire. For spring, stay in a cottage with a hot tub and bubble your troubles away.

Stay in a Devon holiday cottage to enjoy all the events the county has to offer.
