March brings with it the blooms of spring, painting the island with colour and life. Visit the island this month for cracking spring walks and incredible ocean views. Book a short break with your mum to treat her to a special Mother’s Day holiday this year. She deserves it just as much as you do. Then pick an event or two from our list below to give you some exciting things to look forward to.
Bring your four legged friend to the island this March and make the most of the dog friendly beaches and restaurants offered up by the friendly Isle of Wight community. The beaches will be quieter at this time of year and hopefully you’ll get plenty of sunny days as we warm up into spring. That being said, it’s always handy to have some ideas of things to do on the island, especially when the rain comes in.
Take a look at our list of events in March on the Isle of Wight to keep you busy on your island break:
Stay in the south of the island to enjoy the early spring blooms of Ventnor Botanical Gardens then follow its artists to the east for an exhibition at Quarr Abbey. Now that the weather’s getting better, stop at St Catherine’s Lighthouse on the very southern tip of the isle or head to the west for wild walks along the rugged coastal paths. For dramatic drops and iconic photographs, the Needles are perfect. Blow away the cobwebs on a weekend away after a long week in the office and enjoy the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the west of the island. After a day out in the countryside, retire to your holiday let to relax by the fire with a glass of wine or a hot cup of tea. What could be better?
Not sure about a holiday in March? There are plenty of Isle of Wight holiday cottages available all year round.
