June events in Dorset

With no school holidays in June, you’ll find the hills and beaches of Dorset to be a little quieter than usual. Perfect for seeing all the hot spots without having to wade through the crowds. This month proves popular for festivals as people come out to relax in the sunshine. Make the most of your visit to Dorset with our list of events across the county in June.

June is possibly the best month to visit Dorset as you’ll see the countryside at its best without having masses of people crowding the most beautiful places.  The best spots will be quieter so you'll be able to take your time to really explore and get under the skin of Dorset. The good weather will have brought out the colours of the flowers and trees, making them look their best for your holiday. If you happen to get some warm weather, you’ll be pleased to hear that the sea will be warming up so at this point a quick dip won’t be too painful. Extra daylight hours also mean that even though beaches have dog restrictions, you can still enjoy the sand between your toes as you watch the sunset because of the longer days and lighter nights.

Enjoy all Dorset has to offer with our pick of events in the county this month:

26th May to 10th June: Purbeck Arts weeks

2nd to 3rd June: Poole running festival

9th to 10th June: Swanage Fish Festival

9th June: Corscombe Fest

10th to 16th June: Bridport Food festival

15th to 24th June: Bournemouth Food and Drink festival

30th June: Folk on the Quay in Poole

29th June to 1st July: Tankfest 2018

23rd June to 1st July: Beaminster festival

Why not treat dad for Father’s Day? Book a cooking class at River Cottage and stay in Dorset for a family weekend together. Explore your dad’s favourite beach and brave a swim under the rock arch at Durdle Door. If you’re looking for a more metropolitan break, visit Bournemouth to shop ‘til you drop then slurp cocktails while overlooking the sea.
