January events in Hampshire

Christmas and New Year have come and gone. It’s time to start planning your 2018. But amongst all the gift-giving, carol singing and mince-pie-eating you might have forgotten to actually relax and rest. Head for a self catering cottage in Hampshire this January to give yourself the break you deserve.

Whether it’s just the two of you hunkering down for a few days of peace and quiet or you’re planning on making this holiday a big one with all the family, there’s plenty to keep you busy over January. Hampshire is the perfect spot for a short break as it’s not too far from most major cities in the UK, including London. So pack up and head out for a lovely winter warmer in a home away from home. This time of year tends to be quieter in the South West so you’ll have the chance to make the most of the attractions

Be sure to enjoy the great outdoors, even now that the winter chill has set in. The New Forest is just as beautiful while under Jack Frost’s icy grip as it is in the middle of summer. Pack some strong boots, thick socks and a woolly hat to keep yourself toasty. You might even want to think about staying in a holiday cottage with a fire for an extra cosy place to stay this January.

Whatever the weather, these are some events to get stuck into throughout your holiday in Hampshire.

Throughout January: Winter paddling with New Forest Activities

Throughout January: Last chance to see The Vyne's rooftop walkway

Until 7th January: Ice skating at Winchester Cathedral

Until 7th January: Kaffe Fassett's Colour at Mottisfont Exhibition

13th January: After Dark event at the Winchester science centre and planetarium

27th to 28th January: The RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch with Harold Hillier gardens

Make the most of Hampshire by staying in a beautiful holiday cottage.
