Enjoy the magic of the island as spring begins to take over. You’ll still need to wrap up warm but there are definitely some sunny days to make the most of during a February break on the Isle of Wight.
Hop on the ferry and head to the Isle of Wight to escape the strains of mainland life. Pick the perfect manor to house all the family for half term, find a romantic cottage to relax with your darling or choose a dog friendly house to hide away in. Whatever you choose, there are plenty of events to keep you occupied throughout February.
Explore the unspoilt landscapes of West Wight with coastal walks around Freshwater Bay along to Brighstone. This Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty will be coming into its own at this time of the year with spring colours complementing your views to the Channel. Nip further west to the Needles for some family fun in a breath-taking location, soaking up some historical knowledge at the National Trust’s Needles battery.
With Valentine’s day looming, you might be holidaying with your significant other. Head to Godshill for a classic cream tea with your love and a gentle meander through the romantic thatched cottages. For a special dinner out, book a table at Thompson’s in Newport for the height of culinary excellence on the isle and an amazing way to treat your beau. You’ll earn mega brownie points for a meal here.
For plenty of dog friendly beaches and beautiful views across the Solent, look for a holiday let in Seaview. A pretty village set on the east of the island. From here you can easily visit the beaches of Bembridge and St Helens which are great for pooches. Stroll along the sands in the February sunshine and pray that you’ll never have to leave the shores of the island.
Of course, the school half term falls in this month so you might want to plan around those dates.
