December has come around once more, bringing with it festive cheer and fun for all the family. Cornwall has plenty to offer when it comes to things to do this month. From Santa trains to Christmas illuminations, there's something for everyone.
Christmas in Cornwall is magical. Staying in a holiday cottage here means you'll benefit from all that the county has to offer during a quieter part of the year. As Cornwall still stays fairly warm (in comparison to the rest of the country) during winter, the gardens and fields are still green and you’ll rarely find snow. But the lack of wintery weather doesn’t stop the county going all out on festivities in the lead up to the big day. There are plenty of illuminations, Christmas markets and trips to Santa on offer. There are even the infamous Christmas Day swims. Of course, there’s still the beautiful landscapes and beaches to take in on winter walks, a very different experience to exploring in the summer months.
Alternatively, stay in and enjoy the luxuries of a self catering cottage by cooking up some festive treats or practising your leftovers recipes ready for Christmas day.
