April events on the Isle of Wight

Dodge those April showers and pack your bags for an island holiday. Escape the stresses of mainland life by getting outdoors at one of these wonderful spring events.

With bank holidays galore in April, it’s time to get out and explore a new place for your holiday. The Isle of Wight offers up the perfect escape from your daily life. The sheer act of having to hop on a ferry makes your holiday here feel more exotic and gets you and the kids excited without really having to do anything. Catch the ferry to Yarmouth, East Cowes or Fishbourne and we can organise your booking for you to make the trip that little bit easier.

Once on the island, explore the events below for a special day out on your April holiday.

2nd April: Memorial Ploughing Match

8th to 23rd April: Bembridge Windmill spring trails

8th to 23rd April: Geocaching with the National Trust in Newtown

11th to 13th April: Pied Piper trails at Newtown

12th April: Make a pocket rocket at the Needles Old Battery

An Isle of Wight holiday is perfect as a spring getaway as there’s so much to do outside. From watersports to cycling, you can find something to do outside across the island. Go windsurfing on Yaverland beach, horseriding over the Tennyson Downs or cycling along the 200 miles of cycling routes on the isle. Plan walks in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or try your hand at sailing in Cowes. Spring weather can be unpredictable so make sure you pack a coat even on the brightest of days. After all these adventures, head back to your holiday cottage to relax by the fire or hop in the hot tub with a glass of wine in hand.

Stay in one of our Isle of Wight cottages at any time of year for cracking views and incredible walks.
