Hello

Greetings from the Marketing Department.

Each month we'll be letting you know what we've been doing to get you more bookings with updates on our seasonal campaigns, press coverage, email broadcasts, social media and more.

December

Happy New Year!

The month of December saw an increase in activity across all marketing channels in the lead up to the peak booking season. From digital campaigns, email and social through to national print advertising and press features, the festive and final month of the year was certainly not a quiet one throughout the business.

On top of this we've continued to build on our relationships with third parties, particularly with each of the county 'Visits' and attending their AGMs, with Visit Somerset, Devon and Cornwall coming up soon.

It was lovely to meet lots of our newer owners over on the Isle of Wight at the recent Owner Lunch and plan to follow up with more across the counties in the coming months.

This month we've launched a bit of a 'celebrity service' feature, making a holiday a little extra special with a card or small gift at the cottage if we know the guests are celebrating a particular occasion, just to leave guests with that lasting fuzzy feeling of warmth that lingers till they re-book!

January is a busy booking period so we are getting in front of as many new people as we can with on-going PPC campaigns and press features. Here's to a successful year ahead...

Hello from your Property Manager

When subscribed to our owner marketing emails, you'll see a message from your local expert here, talking about goings-on in your area and what they're up to this month.

Press alerts

We've a page on our website to help with PR enquiries and to showcase any publicity, paid for or otherwise, we've got along the way.

If you'd like your property to be considered for press trips or editorial stories, do drop me an email.

Here's a few places we have featured recently, now on our Press Page:

Social Media

Our focus on networking has continued this month, expanding our following on Instagram by 20%. We worked with Visit Cornwall for our third Instagram takeover and will be organising the same with Visit Dorset and Visit Somerset in 2019 to continue the growth and impact that we’ve seen so far.

Planning an overarching social media strategy and approaches for each channel has dominated this month to ensure that our website themes and content complement what we’re saying on our social channels while remaining effective for each individual channel. We’re looking at aligning our messages, making sure that the message is amplified across print and online.

As always, please feel free send us any photographs of your cottage or the surrounding area, use #classiccottages online or simply tag us in your own posts on FacebookTwitter and Instagram. We love seeing the things you do for guests and sharing your pictures.

Thank you!

- Kayleigh

Christmas Party

Saturday 15th saw all the staff gather at a small hotel near Falmouth to share a few festive drinks and food. It's a lovely opportunity to get dressed up, socialise with colleagues and hear a summary of how the year has gone from the MD - a refresher before the booking frenzy started on Boxing Day!
