If you were looking for cottages like The Blue Beach House, how about trying these:

Beginning its life as accommodation for troops during the First World War, The Blue Beach House has undergone many transformations in its time until its present day status as a charming and beautifully renovated holiday home. Just a few hundred yards walk to the beach and within an easy stroll of Bembridge village, you will arrive at this wonderful cottage and feel instantly in holiday heaven.

The current owners have refurbished inside and out to a very high standard. The exterior of the building is largely original and great care has been taken to preserve as many of the original interior features, such as the wooden cladding constructed from Canadian Cedar. The entrance is at the rear of the property and as you step inside to the sitting/dining-room, the open plan configuration is light and spacious. You can relax on the sumptuous sofas or dine at the table overlooking the enclosed private garden. Open the doors and let the Island sunshine in! There is luggage and shoe storage in your own mini beach huts on the rear patio.

The galley kitchen is very well-equipped and every care has been taken to ensure guests have everything they might need. All on one level, the two bedrooms are opposite each other with the shower-room at the end of the hall. The double bedroom with a king-size bed has an en suite WC and this room can also be configured as twin beds for guest flexibility.

Lane End beach, a few yards away, is the perfect combination of pebbles, sand and rock pools, so there is something for everyone. It is also the site of the striking Bembridge lifeboat station which runs from a long pier, completely redeveloped in 2009 and constructed around the previous historic building it is well worth a visit. There is a public slipway from this beach so if any guests wished to bring a small boat or kayaks there is plenty of space on the driveway and a short pull to the water’s edge.
