Cramwell is a wonderfully extravagant retreat that is perfect for couples and families looking for a unique getaway in south Devon. Step inside from the minimalist exterior and you will be greeted by stunning interiors that are furnished head to toe with lavish details and gorgeous luxuries.
The front room is full of character with rustic wooden beams, beautiful leather furniture and textured wallpaper giving the space a unique charm. A cosy wood-burning stove sits underneath the fabulous period fireplace while wonderfully framed paintings line the walls. In the corner, a fantastic dining-table provides the perfect place for quirky dinner parties while the two wing-back armchairs offer a great spot to enjoy a glass of something special in front of the fire or the brilliant Smart TV.
Round the corner, you'll find a beautiful modern kitchen that complements the extravagant decorations of the front room with state-of-the-art appliances and fittings. Tucked away in the cabinets you'll find an electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. A charming breakfast-bar provides the ideal spot to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning before heading out on your adventures.
Downstairs you will also find a beautifully finished shower-room as well as a handy utility-room complete with a washing machine and tumble drier.
Venture upstairs and you will be greeted by three opulent bedrooms that are all exquisitely furnished and perfect for couples. Bedroom one houses an indulgent king-size bed with beautifully carved wooden head and footboards. Bedroom two also comes with a lavish king-size bed as well as some stunning wooden furniture. A wonderful double bed sits next to a tremendous window which floods bedroom three with natural light and fabulous views across the glorious countryside. You will also find a fantastic family bathroom on the first floor which, with its large bathtub, is the ideal spot to relax after a long day out exploring.
Outside, you find a wonderful, enclosed patio which with its high wooden fences ensures you can enjoy the Devonshire sun in peace. Enjoy a glass of fizz in the indulgent hot tub, which is tucked into the corner of the garden and is wonderfully decorated, or tuck into a bite to eat at the wonderful outdoor sitting area, which is ideal for al fresco dining.
Cramwell's location in the south of Devon means there is plenty to see and do once you've taken in the cottage's fabulous interiors. The Ley Arms is a fantastic pub owned by the cottage owner that guarantees a warm welcome, with a 10% discount on food and drink for guests. It is only a few minutes away on foot (please note, parking for the property is provided here). Kenn is close to Haldon Forest, therefore walkers, bikers and dog lovers are spoilt for choice in relation to walking and exploring. Venture further afield and explore the rugged landscapes of Dartmoor, which is full of gorgeous places to reconnect with nature. Should you fancy a bit of shopping, the historic Cathedral City of Exeter is only six miles away and full of plenty of independent shops and eateries. If you fancy a dip, the glorious beaches of Exmouth and Dawlish are only 30 minutes away and home to some beautiful views across the bay, and only slightly further a-field you will find the stunning south Devon coast and all its wonders and hotspots.
Not forgetting those fun packed kiddies' days, Crealy Adventure Park is at your disposal, offering thrills and entertainment galore, an amazing day out for all the family. Or perhaps something more relaxing is the plan, if so spend your day strolling around the beautiful 18th Century Killerton House. The stunning gardens, chapel and parkland await, complemented by a fabulous cafe, shop, and plant centre for those green fingered members of the party. Killerton House is a great day out for all generations, especially as you can also take your four-legged friends.
Powderham Castle is also a short car journey away (under five miles) from your doorstep, offering another fabulous day out for all the family. This magnificent castle, built in 1392 stands proudly in a magical Deer Park on the banks of the River Exe. Once within the castle grounds, you can take a 35 minute safari round the Deer Park, home to over 600 fallow deer, or visit the Courtenay Fort which can be found in the secret garden, a superb adventure for the younger members of the party, especially if you take advantage of the zip slide which enables a hasty exit from the Fort, should you come under attack!
For the wine connoisseurs, Kenton Park Estate Vineyard is a must, especially as you can treat yourself to a vineyard tour and wine tasting adventure, sounds perfect, and the bonus is it's only 10 minutes away from Cramwell.
Something for the foodies of the party, Darts Farm shop, which is also only a short drive away, serves up an array of artisan products, several home and garden outlets, and a delightful cafe to sit and enjoy a fresh cream tea after all that shopping excitement.
