Wander back to the 1940s with a stay in 'The Radar Rooms'. Uncover something magical, exquisite coastlines, rolling surf, tumbling hills and fairy tale landscapes whilst staying in the Officer's Mess in this lovingly restored World War II building. Just a mile from the beach sleeping two in what was formerly the 'Set House' for a Top Secret World War II Radar Station, this quirky captivating building beckons an unforgettable Pembrokeshire holiday.

Few places offer such immense variety as Pembrokeshire, rich in history, diverse in culture, with overwhelming beauty, sparkling seas and natural landscapes, rated by National Geographic magazine as the second best coastline in the world. You're in for a timeless treat and your dog will also love exploring this stunning county in Wales.

Stop for a moment as you step inside, marvelling at the attention to detail as you're transported to a time gone by, reconnecting with the past in an eclectic mix of history and modern day comfort. You don't have to be interested in RAF military history to appreciate the warmth of the atmosphere, enchanting location and wonderful character of this romantic retreat.

On the ground floor, with one double room with king-size bed, the Officers' Mess offers comfortable accommodation for a much-deserved break. The well-equipped galley kitchen has everything you need for some tasty holiday cooking or you may choose to light the barbecue and end a perfect day under the starry skies, sat by a burning fire-pit. On chillier nights, cosy up with your four legged friend snoozing next to the roaring wood-burner; the Officers' Mess offers the perfect year round coastal retreat. Accessed from the patio which has wonderful, far reaching rural views, the sun-room is perfect for sundowners. With small dining-table, arm chairs, atmospheric lamp lighting and coal-effect fire, the sun-room makes a perfect addition to your holiday experience.

Babes in arms, under six months old, are accepted at the Officers' Mess.

Officers' Quarters (4759) is situated nearby, sleeping four (pet free).

Short breaks are available at certain times of the year and run from Friday to Monday, and Monday to Friday only.

Located in the midst of the Pembrokeshire coast, there are so many glorious beaches to explore. The tiny sheltered cove of St Brides Haven is just down the road and the magnificent Marloes Sands is less than five miles away. Ramblers will be in heaven as the coastal path is accessible by foot, down a farm track to Mill Haven, a tiny cove frequented by seals. The Coastal Path meanders above craggy coves and stretches of golden sandy beaches through idyllic seaside villages, perfect for pub lunches or traditional cafes en route.

Or you may like to take a trip up the coast to St Davids, soak up the relaxed vibe and mystical presence, visit the majestic Cathedral, galleries and boutique shops or for surfers, popular Whitesands Beach. The closest seaside villages are Little Haven and Broad Haven, which has a well- stocked supermarket, with bakery and Post Office, beach shop, cafes, pubs and restaurants.

The sheltered anchorage of Dale is four miles up the road, a watersports paradise, try paddle boarding or windsurfing, a tasty lunch in the award-winning Griffin Inn or just relax and unwind in the fresh sea air. Try surfing at West Dale or Newgale. And for that extra special day, a boat trip to Skomer Island from nearby St Martins Haven is an absolute 'must to do'.
