Overlooking the sparkling sea, this luxurious beach house makes the most of the breathtaking sea views with glass frontage throughout. With enviable views over Mount's Bay, Blue Seas is a gorgeous contemporary hideaway etched into the cliffside near the coastal delight of Mousehole. This captivating clifftop abode boasts far-reaching panoramas and promises days of sandy toes and salty skin.
The super light and airy open plan kitchen and dining area is like no other. With a central breakfast-bar and large dining space that can easily accommodate eight lucky guests, sit down for long lazy lunches whilst the room is bathed in the Cornish sun and look out through the huge glass windows, which frame the ever-changing seascape. There is a Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine for your morning coffee too. Upstairs the sitting-area has two comfy sofas where you can sit and relax whilst taking in the extensive sea views. The lovely owners (who live in a secluded cabin behind Blue Seas) adore art and finding exquisite treasures and this is showcased in all the original paintings from local artists which adorn the white walls, and the carefully collated collection of bespoke furniture gives this home a timeless feel.
There are four stunning bedrooms to choose from. The main bedroom is on the first floor and boasts a sumptuous super-king size bed, two en suites (yes, you have one each!) and a cosy seating-area with a sofa and chair perfectly positioned to enjoy the sea view, ideal for a leisurely breakfast or romantic sundowners. On the ground floor, three other beautifully furnished bedrooms await that wouldn't look out of place in a boutique hotel. All of the bedrooms come complete with luxurious linens and are supremely comfortable, with heated rails in all the bath and en suite shower rooms which means towels will be kept warm and fluffy. Wake up and spend lazy mornings watching seals play in the waves and nights wrapped in blankets on the patio, watching the twinkling lights of Penzance and Newlyn shining across the bay.
Blue Seas has lots of outdoor space to make the most of the long days and laid-back evenings. To the front of the property there is a stunning terrace, overlooking the everchanging vista, accessed from the kitchen/dining area. Perfect for al fresco Mediterranean-style lunches, where you can spend several hours grazing on cold meats and olives, with a glass of something chilled. At the rear of the property there is another terrace with a table and chairs for informal meals, plus a further terrace with sun loungers (more images to follow).
Mousehole is most definitely one of England's most charming quintessential villages. Swim in the harbour, have a mooch around the galleries and local shops, then stop off at The Ship Inn for a beer or two! Located in the very heart of the harbour, The Ship Inn manages the perfect balance of being both a visitors' and a locals' pub. It is a great place for a drink or meal, and there is a corner seat still dedicated to Dylan Thomas, who famously wrote "Mousehole is the loveliest village in England."
The working fishing harbour of Newlyn is only a hop, skip and a jump away! Stroll along the coast path to the harbour and buy some fish, which is sure to be fresh off the boats that day. The bustling town of Penzance is only 10 minutes' drive away, if you fancy a dip in the outdoor lido, we recommend you book in advance, as it is super popular!
Slightly further is St Ives, home to the Tate gallery, the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden, several fantastic beaches and plenty of shops and restaurants. It is well worth a visit and we recommend taking the cute little train from St Erth, which travels along the coast right into the town. It is truly breathtaking!
There are simply tons of things to see and do right on your doorstep. Being in the wild west of Cornwall, head around towards Land's End and you will find the Minack Theatre - an outdoor theatre with the sea as its backdrop. Make sure to see a performance if you can. Head to Sennen for a spot of surfing and a bite to eat, or follow the coastal road (one of the most picturesque stretches in Cornwall), around to St Ives, the artist hotspot and iconic fishing town.
With sunny terraces, sea views and opulent beds to sink into, Blue Seas is a luxury coastal retreat which allows all worries to ebb away with the tide
