The Barn House will not fail to impress, beautifully restored throughout whilst retaining many original features creating a house with character and charm. The owner has not stopped there, there are luxurious interiors and a newly installed wood-burner. 21st Century living has been seamlessly installed, from feature lighting and high speed WiFi, to the shower and the standalone bath, featuring a porthole view out across the countryside! Without doubt the crowning glory of Ugborough village must be the joy of two wonderful village pubs offering food and a warm welcome, allowing the cook of the family to take a night or two off. The Barn House really does boast 'location, location, location' and once discovered will not be forgotten.
Being an older terraced house there are a few low and sloping ceilings with the odd beam that will require you to duck. The stairs are steep up to the first floor, each step has been lit by low level floor lighting and has a handrail. On reaching the top landing you step up a few more stairs to the bathroom in one direction and in the other direction to access the three bedrooms. The owner has carefully thought out the refurb to allow for a wonderfully large bathroom and the three bedrooms, and of course all these unique and quirky features add to the charm.
South Devon is renowned for the outdoor life! Jump in the car and within 20 minutes you can be arriving at one of the many golden sandy beaches that this coast has been blessed with. There are a few local well-known ones that are also dog-friendly and offer a quieter day; be sure to check your welcome folder. If the beach is not on your agenda, then the scenery and beauty of the coast can also be enjoyed whilst walking the coastal paths, a favourite being the circular walk out of Newton Ferrers. Be sure to call in at one of the local pubs for Devon cider, a ploughman's lunch or fish and chips. If you come to this truly spectacular part of the world a 'must' has to be a day enjoying Dartmoor National Park, or head to Avon Dam and follow the path up to the reservoir, at the top you will be rewarded by rugged wonderous views of this unspoilt and beautiful land with the Dartmoor ponies always being a delight.
