The Gamekeepers Cottage is a hidden gem nestled in the countryside, looking out onto the private woodland and offering the perfect Devon luxury retreat with the benefit of a wood-fired hot tub for a couple to recharge, celebrate and escape. The owners have made sure that every aspect of the cottage offers luxury, with treats waiting for you on arrival including a hamper and locally-sourced toiletries.

At the end of a track the cottage is set next to the owners' home yet offers complete privacy with the reassurance that the owners are close by should you need assistance or even local knowledge about walks along the north Devon coast path, the wonder of Dartmoor or a local woodland walk which is accessible from your front door. Don't forget the picnic hamper which has been provided for your use and enjoyment.

When designing the layout, the owners have spared no expense with under-floor heating throughout, a log-burner and a 3000 spring mattress on a French-inspired Loaf bed to mention but a few of the wonderful items of furniture --not forgetting the roll-top bath and robes. The positioning of the front door also allows you to enjoy the view across towards Buckland House with windows positioned to flood the cottage with light and creating an ever-changing picture throughout the seasons.

For those colder days and nights, the living-room with vaulted ceilings offer a great space and warmed by the log-burner with logs sourced from the woods surrounding the cottage. The Smart TV will allow you to catch up on a box set or that film for those cosy evenings in.

Relaxation and luxury will be enjoyed by all that travel to this cottage. The garden and patio areas have also been decked out with top of the range rattan furniture and cushioned sun beds as well as a parasol allowing you to enjoy those day dreaming moments with not a care in the world. Once night-time falls you can star gaze whilst enjoying a glass of wine and keeping warm by one of the two fire-pits that also offer a barbecue option.

Please note the beds are made up with feather bedding, synthetic bedding can be provided on request.

If you can bear to tear yourselves away from the cottage, north Devon offers plenty of things to see and do. You can join the renowned Tarka Trail (a safe, traffic-free and relatively flat disused railway line that runs alongside the River Torridge) at nearby Great Torrington - if you fancy cycling, bikes can be hired at Torrington Cycle Hire. Alternatively bring your own bikes and you can be on the cycle path within five minutes.

The wonderful market towns of Great Torrington and Holsworthy are well worth a visit, as is north Devon's largest town of Barnstaple. Of course, heading to the coast is a must and you will be spoilt for choice with lots of fantastic beaches to visit - Croyde, Clovelly, Sandymouth, Westward Ho!, Widemouth Bay and Crooklets to name a few - whether you want to try your hand at surfing or paddle boarding, have a bucket and spade day or join the South West Coast Path, there is something for everyone.
