Lymington from the old harbour, from the other side of the river you can take a day trip to the Isle of Wight, the ferry takes about 30 minutes to Yarmouth.
Lymington Old Town has historic streets that lead down to the Quayside, with cafes, restaurants and pubs where you can watch the world go by.
New Forest National Park, just a short drive away, looks wonderful all year round, acres of ancient woodland, and miles of footpaths and cycle tracks invite you to explore.

A National Trust nature reserve, this three-mile curve of sand is home to many breeds of rare bird. Voted the UK's 4th top beach by Which? Magazine - though locals would probably place it higher. Studland is also a popular family beach famous for its nudist section at Knoll Bay, the National Trust's only designated naturist beach. With safe shallow waters, sandy beach and a cafe this is a great place for children. National Trust members can park for free.

Gets pretty busy at peak times, but it's a great place all year round - as sandy as the Bournemouth beaches but totally sheltered from the prevailing south westerly breezes. National Trust Membesr park for free. Use the road from Corfe or chain ferry from Sandbanks.

Mudeford Sandbank Beach forms a natural divide between the harbour and the sea. Offering stunning 365 degree views, every angle of this beach is photo-worthy. Well known for its sought after beach huts, Mudeford Sandbank Beach has no direct road access but is accessible either on foot or via the land train or local ferry. There are plenty of facilities nearby.

Friars Cliff's sand and shingle beach stretches as far as the eye can see. Lined with pretty beach huts and affording beautiful views of the Isle of Wight and Christchurch Bay, this award-winning beach is a real family favourite. With a clifftop nature reserve a short walk away and a cafe serving delicious food, there is plenty to be happy about.
