This beautifully converted Sussex barn is an ideal staycation for get-togethers with family and friends in a rural location in the Cuckmere Valley and South Downs National Park. It is truly a walkers paradise as directly behind the barn and gardens is a path with direct access to the Downs, and an area where you can explore endless footpaths and cycle trails including the South Downs Way, Weald Way and the Vanguard Way.

As you enter the barn there is a wonderful country kitchen with a large table and chairs where you can enjoy quality time together whilst cooking up a culinary delight on the electric Everhot Range.

After a busy day exploring, snuggle up in the sitting-room on the comfy sofas either in front of the inglenook fireplace with the wood-burning stove, or on warmer days, open the double doors to the enclosed garden and sit back and take in the downland views and listen to the birdsong. The barn is eco-friendly and heated by an air source heat pump, there is also a complimentary charger for electric cars.

There are four bedrooms to choose from. Downstairs at the far end of the barn is a light and airy king-size double bedroom which has a door and a couple of steps to the courtyard. Next to this room is another double bedroom and access to a modern wet-room. Upstairs is a large king-size double bedroom which has views of the Downs and a modern en suite shower-room (please supervise children around the low window). Along the landing is a bathroom with a bath and fitted shower along with a twin room with two single beds.

Outside, the garden area is delightful with many seating areas and places to enjoy. Take evening strolls around the wild meadow and orchard or enjoy your favourite tipple by the pond. Please note there are two ornamental ponds around the courtyard and a wildlife pond in the orchard meadow, so do take care with children.

The hamlet of Milton Street has a pub called the Sussex Ox which is just a short stroll from the barn. You can walk or drive to the wonderful downland village of Alfriston, recently named as the best village in the UK and home to the Alfriston Clergy House the first property acquired by the National Trust. There are also several independent shops, tearooms, pubs, and restaurants to be enjoyed. Just outside the village you can book a wine tasting tour or dine at the stunning Rathfinney Wine Estate.

The A27 provides easy access to the seaside towns of Eastbourne and Brighton and the county town of Lewes. Mainline rail services to Gatwick and London Victoria can be found at the nearby railway stations of Berwick and Polegate.

Take in an opera at the world-famous Glyndebourne Opera House and enjoy a picnic in the wonderful grounds or book a table at one of the on site restaurants.

There are many places locally to explore including Cuckmere Haven, Friston Forest, Seven Sisters Country Park, Drusilla's Zoo Park, Charleston Farmhouse, Long Man of Wilmington, the Long Man Brewery, Michelham Priory, Arlington Raceway, Pevensey Castle, Herstmonceux Castle and Science Centre and Lewes Castle to name just a few.
