Situated in idyllic Devonshire countryside with easy access to the gorgeous beaches of north Devon, Glendale Cottage is the perfect holiday abode for a small family or a couple looking for a romantic getaway. Peace and tranquility envelop this small hamlet of cottages and whilst your privacy is ensured, the friendly owners are on hand should you have any questions.

Glendale Cottage is a gorgeous semi-detached rural retreat surrounded by verdant Devonshire countryside and from the moment you arrive you will realise you are somewhere very special. The spacious open plan ground floor has been beautifully created with contemporary furnishings complementing the traditional exposed beams and feature stone fireplace, home to a fabulous wood-burner. The sitting-area is down a short flight of steps from the dining-area with a stunning farmhouse table, perfect to sit and chat about the day ahead, or simply enjoy the countryside views. The kitchen adjoins the dining-area and has all you need to rustle up a holiday meal and with plenty of roadside stalls and farm shops selling the freshest of local produce you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding what to cook. The first floor has a pretty double bedroom, a cute single room, ideal for either an adult or child and another single room suitable for a child. The bathroom has a bath with an overhead shower over so you can choose whether to enjoy a long soak or take a refreshing shower.

The outside space at Glendale is quite something and you can choose to enjoy al fresco dining in the barbecue area to the front of the cottage or relax in the lawned area to the back which can be accessed through the patio doors from the dining-area. This is a gorgeous, space shared with the owners. There are acres of land to explore here with woodlands and a river valley to enjoy. The clever owners really have thought of everything here and you will find a lovely viewing platform with views down the valley, perfect for immersing yourself in nature surrounded by peace and tranquility. If you sit still for long enough in this dreamy spot you may even spot a local deer!

With easy access to the delights of the north coast and surrounded by the rolling hills of Devon, a getaway at Glendale will be a nature watcher's heaven.

The unspoilt rural hamlet of Fairy Cross is easily reached and just a short drive away from the beauty of Hartland to the south and the golden sands of Westward Ho! to the north. Hartland is a captivating area where walkers will love the stunning coast path and hidden coves. Hartland village is a charming place deep in the peninsula and a day can be spent here exploring the area. To the north, the town of Westward Ho! is a vibrant seaside town with a colourful town centre. At low tide the flat sandy beach appears, perfect for a family day at the seaside. Surfing enthusiasts head here to enjoy the Atlantic rollers whilst paddleboarders seek out the sheltered waters of Appledore and Instow, pretty villages with a passenger ferry running in-between the two. Perhaps you'd like to spend the day exploring the charming village of Clovelly with characterful cobbled streets and a picturesque harbour. However you plan to spend your days you will look forward to returning to your peaceful retreat, Glendale Cottage.

Please note there are three steps into the property. The lawned area at the back of the property is shared with the friendly owners. Please supervise young children in the garden as a river runs to the side of the property. Please note, bedroom 3 has bunk-beds, however the top bunk is not available for guests and the bottom bunk is suitable for children under 10 only. *A cot is not provided, bring your own travel cot.
