Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, surrounded by unforgettable Devon countryside, Hatway Hideaway is a wonderful haven for those looking for peace and tranquility.

Step inside to discover the pretty living space with a lovely seating area and a small kitchen with a kettle, toaster, coffee machine, fridge, microwave and plug-in double hob, but please note there is no oven. Spend your mornings relaxing in the armchair and admiring the gorgeous Devonshire countryside with a coffee in hand and blissful evenings curling up with a good book. The cosy bedroom is perfect for two with a comfortable double bed and an en suite shower-room.

Outside, there's a patio area which is perfect for enjoying your peaceful surroundings and soaking up the sunshine with a good book in hand. There's also a barbecue for those summertime evenings dining al fresco.

Your dog is more than welcome to join you on your holiday, but please note the space is small so can only accommodate a dog up to the size of a cocker spaniel.

Due to the tranquility of your surroundings, you may be able to spot deer, buzzards and other wildlife during your stay. Hatway Hideaway is situated in the grounds of the owner's listed cottage and there is one other holiday cottage on site Larch Barn (4262). Please note you have plenty of privacy, but if you do need to ask a question the lovely owner is happy to help.

If you can tear yourself away from the peace and quiet, you are surrounded by wonderful places to visit. The East Devon Way can be accessed 100 yards away at the entrance to the driveway. Regency Sidmouth has a beautiful seafront, magnificent red cliffs and lots of independent shops, tea shops, restaurants and pubs. The Cathedral City of Exeter is just a short drive away; here you can explore 2000 years of history, with Roman walls, underground passages, the historic quayside and great shopping. If you are feeling energetic the Exe Estuary Trail can be enjoyed on foot or with your bicycle, a 26 mile flat route which links Exmouth, Exeter and Dawlish, with some fabulous views along the way.

Heading east from Hatway Hideaway, you can discover more of this beautiful part of east Devon; Branscombe, with the fabulous Sea Shanty beach cafe and the Mason's Arms, or visit Beer village with lots of charm, fresh fish from the beachside shop and summer boat hire if you wish to take to the water. Seaton tramway is well worth a visit, it leaves Seaton and travels the Axe estuary through wetlands teeming with bird and insect life, to inland historic Colyton.

Further east you can book into River Cottage HQ for a cookery course or indulgent meal or hop over the border into Dorset and visit Lyme Regis. Famous for its iconic Cobb, Lyme is lively all year round, with great restaurants and cafes, a sandy beach, and dinosaur and fossil museums to keep you there all day.

Hatway Hideaway is not far from The Donkey Sanctuary at Salcombe Regis, offering free admission and the opportunity to see hundreds of rescued donkeys and mules on this scenic working farm. On your travels you will no doubt come across some wonderful scenery and farm shops selling a wide range of local produce and treats to take back to your holiday home and enjoy.
