Welcome to your perfect holiday bolthole, situated in the tiny hamlet of Trewithian and just a very short drive or pleasant coast path stroll away from the pretty seaside village of Portscatho. Pendower Barn is simply lovely, with spacious living areas and a fabulous garden where you can sit and enjoy the peace and quiet of the surrounding countryside. Whether you are a family looking for a week of beachside bliss, or friends seeking secluded coves and dramatic coast paths, Pendower Barn is the perfect Roseland retreat at any time of year.

Step over the threshold, through the stable-door into the kitchen and you will instantly feel at home here. Pendower Barn has been created with comfort in mind and the double height ceilings ensure the rooms fill with natural light and oak beams give a nod to its heritage. The kitchen has all you will need to cook a holiday feast and the lovely table and chairs make this the ideal place for socialising with the chef. Stairs from the dining area lead to the mezzanine where the children in the party will delight at having a separate snug, perfect for a board game or movie after a day on the beach. From the kitchen and dining areas, two steps lead down to the sitting-area with super comfy sofas and the added luxury of a wood-burner to warm those cool autumnal evenings. During fine weather, throw open the French doors and enjoy the fabulous sunny terrace, just made for al fresco dining.

Beyond the patio the lawn awaits where you can sit in the tranquility of the surrounding countryside and listen to birdsong, or perhaps burn off some steam with the kids. The perfect escape awaits at the end of the garden where a couple of wooden seats capture the sun's rays. Back to the barn and at the rear of the kitchen you will find the two bedrooms and family bathroom. Bedroom one has a king-size bed with pretty linens and quality furnishings; this room is light and bright, thanks to the French windows. Bedroom two has twin beds with lovely linens and the added bonus of a TV, giving everyone a choice when it comes to screen time. The bathroom has both a bath and walk-in shower cubicle so you can choose between a long soak after a day of adventure, or a refreshing shower after a day on the beach.

The Roseland peninsula really does have it all when it comes to the perfect holiday. Walk down the lane to join the coast path and discover Portscatho a quintessential seaside village with fabulous beaches, a great selection of places to eat and the lovely harbour where small fishing boats bob and children enjoy crabbing and splashing around. Try out the Hidden Hut above Porthcurnick beach where diners sit side by side on wooden benches enjoying the seaside vista whilst enjoying the freshest of local produce (booking is essential for feast nights). Curgurrell Farm shop is within easy walking distance of the barn with an excellent selection of crab, lobsters and fresh fish locally-caught by their own fishing boat in Gerrans Bay, along with a plentiful supply of home-grown vegetables, Cornish cheese, artisan breads, jams and free-range eggs.

A little further afield you will find St Mawes, a bustling seaside town where you can enjoy fish and chips out of paper on the harbour wall watching the water world go by or choose fine dining at one of many fabulous eateries. There's a regular passenger ferry over the Carrick Roads to the cosmopolitan town of Falmouth where you can learn all about the seafaring past of the area at the Maritime Museum, or maybe buy souvenirs in one of the many eclectic shops.

If you are looking for peace and tranquility, take the road less travelled, pull on your walking boots and explore the South West Coast Path where secret coves, crystal clear waters and dramatic cliffs await. Further afield the mighty biomes of the Eden Project are worth a visit or perhaps a day of wonder at The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Overgrown and lost in time until 30 years ago when a chance discovery lead to a fabulous restoration, the gardens are worthy of a day out at any time of year.

Whether you plan to spend your days exploring the beautiful Roseland peninsula, or prefer to relax in your lovely holiday home, create beautiful holiday memories here at Pendower Barn.
