This upside down, contemporary abode sits right in the very heart of Marazion, set back from the road and a short walk to the glorious safe, sandy beach, shops, restaurants, pubs and majestic St Michael's Mount. Park your car in front of The Old School Room, head up the steps to the enclosed front terrace and start your (car-free?) holiday.

The property has been renovated to a high standard and has three bedrooms (all with high quality Egyptian cotton linen and TVs, and one en suite) and a family bathroom on the ground floor. Stairs lead up to the spacious open plan living-room with kitchen and dining-areas, where you will find exposed beams, a large dining-table and a well-equipped kitchen-area. At the far end of the room, two comfortable sofas flank the wood-burner and patio doors lead outside to the decked terrace and huge enclosed garden with view across Mount's Bay from the top of the garden. There is plenty of room for children to play and your four-legged friend to roam.

The little town of Marazion is charming and offers so much just a short stroll from the front doorstep where beaching, kite surfing and walks are easily accessible. If you are looking for surf, there is a surf school in the town - even if you don't partake, just watch in awe. Further along the coast Praa Sands is a fabulous beach as is Sennen Cove, both a short drive away. Do dip your toes in the salty sea and eat ice cream - both essential Cornish holiday pursuits.

Head to Penzance for independent shops, art galleries, pubs and restaurants or you can visit and bathe in Jubilee Pool, the largest Art Deco pool in the UK with it's sea water lido and geothermal heated pool. You could also visit the Isles of Scilly for a day trip either by boat, plane or helicopter.

Elsewhere, the National Trust's Godolphin House with it's 500 acres of woodlands and countryside walks is ripe for exploring as is Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, Trengwainton Gardens and Polgoon Vineyard - a family run vineyard with shop and café. The fishing port of Newlyn and magical Mousehole are also both worth a visit while you are down west.
