This simply charming Cornish cottage can be found in the heart of Helford village, nestled on the banks of the river Helford. This tranquil and picturesque end of terrace cottage is perfect for family holidays or friends through the year; with the creek just outside your front door it is ideal for pottering about with a fishing net looking for shrimp.

Bursting with character, Hope Cottage offers spacious accommodation in which to unwind, it was once two cottages and now is one lovely large space. The airy sitting-room has a fabulous inglenook fireplace with warming log-burner and exposed low beams (please take care) making it super cosy at any time of year, plus a TV with a Smart TV for your evening entertainment. There is also a table and chairs which is perfect for games or perhaps tucked away to settle into a good book. The kitchen/diner is a sociable space to eat together and the galley kitchen has everything you need for cooking up a holiday feast.

The three bedrooms and family bathroom are on the first floor, the main bedroom has a comfy king-size bed and all three bedrooms look out to the pretty village (please note Hope Cottage has three bedrooms however the maximum occupancy is four guests for ease of space).

The raised terrace behind Hope Cottage affords a beautiful view through the trees and over the thatched roofs of the village. The terrace catches the sun throughout the day, this elevated spot is worth the climb up the 33 steps - just make sure you have not forgotten anything! There is also a handy car parking space which is unusual in this village and just about enough room to store a paddle board or kayak if you wish to explore the tranquil waters.

Helford is the prettiest of Cornish villages, dotted with thatched cottages it really is like stepping back in time. The South West Coast Path runs through the village so you can pull on your walking boots and head off through wooded glens, find secret coves and discover deserted beaches right from your door. As an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty you will soon see why Daphne du Maurier was captivated by the beauty of the place.

Cross the footbridge opposite Hope Cottage and you will find the village shop crammed with local delicacies. Just a little further down the pretty lane the Shipwright Arms overlooks the estuary and is a fabulous place to treat yourself to some local pub fare or just sit with a drink and watch the water world go by. At the end of the lane, at Helford Point, the passenger ferry takes you over the water to Helford Passage where a short walk along the coast path will take you to the delights of both Trebah Gardens and Durgan, both gorgeous places which should definitely be on your 'to do list'. The ferry also calls at the nearby Budock Vean Hotel and Port Navas when the tide allows. To call the ferry just pop down to the jetty at the point and open the circular yellow sign; very high tech!

Helford is such a fabulous place to holiday it will be hard to pull yourself away but if you do decide to explore further afield the delights of cosmopolitan Falmouth with its famous Maritime Museum is a short car journey away. The Lizard peninsula has lots to offer and iconic Kynance Cove, one of the most photographed places in the county, should not be missed.

Wherever you choose to explore, Hope Cottage will welcome you back year after year.
