Take the little winding path that zig-zags its way through the trees to where Wildwood Hideaway is waiting to welcome you to the peace and tranquility of the woodland. Tucked away amongst the trees with far reaching views stretching out across open countryside, surround yourself with the calm of the great outdoors at this ultimate get-away-from-it-all retreat. While away your days spotting birds and wildlife, who for good reason make this place their home, listening to the sounds of the countryside, soaking in the view or strolling around the owners' 200 acres of pasture, fields and woods. And if you need further relaxation, spend time lazing in the hammock, enjoying leisurely meals al fresco or curled up on the sofa in front of the wood-burner (perfect for those all-important out-of-season breaks).

Befitting of its setting, this wooden cabin has been carefully crafted with log cladding covering the roof and you must take a look around the back to see the log-end wall - it's tremendous! Step inside and the attention to detail is obvious, ensuring the magic continues and that you indulge in that little bit of luxury. From the bespoke hand-built kitchen and stylish shower-room to the gorgeous local artwork, super-comfy bed laden with luxurious linens, plump cushions and lovely throws - all set off against the restful Farrow and Ball colour palate - it's wooded bliss!

You could completely hide away for your whole stay, doing nothing more than enjoying some time to yourself and the true beauty of this tranquil spot - and who would blame you! - but this rural setting is just a short distance from some of Cornwall's true hot-spots, so it's also a fabulous base for exploring. Wildwood Hideaway is close to the vibrant town of Wadebridge which offers a great choice of independent shops, cafes and tea rooms. It's also one of the starting points of the renowned Camel Trail, so for some adventure on two wheels, why not hire a bike and head off to the coast in one direction or Bodmin Moor in the other, perhaps treating yourself to a Cornish cream tea or some award-winning Cornish sparkling wine along the way?

Picture-perfect Port Isaac is utterly delightful and well and truly in the spotlight, being home to TV's Doc Martin, two of Nathan Outlaw's restaurants and The Fisherman's Friends (if you are visiting during the summer months you might have the pleasure of hearing them singing their sea shanties on the quay). Want to feel the sand between your toes or ride the waves? We highly recommend the stunning beaches of Polzeath and Daymer Bay and, to view the coast from a different angle, pop on those walking boots and take to the coastal footpath to marvel at stunning sea vistas around every corner. At trendy Rock, you can try your hand at watersports or let someone else be the skipper and hop on the foot ferry over to ever-popular Padstow, where you can indulge in award-winning Cornish cuisine to your heart's content. With so much to do, one trip will never be enough - once you've discovered this woodland retreat we're sure you'll be back time and time again - it's the ultimate tonic!
