Set in the creekside village of Lerryn, considered to be one of the prettiest villages in Cornwall, Tanglewood is a very special holiday home in a truly magical setting. It sits in just under half an acre of gardens backing on to woods belonging to the National Trust, with the most beautiful views across the tidal waters and wooded valley of the River Lerryn and beyond. From morning coffee on the terrace to balmy summer evenings reclining on the patio, you are sure to make the most of the idyllic surroundings from sunrise to sunset.

Flawlessly renovated to bring together the charm and character of a traditional cottage with stylish and luxurious interiors, the view on the inside is as appealing as the one on the outside.

There are wooded valley walks right from the bottom of the garden, the delights of village life are a mere hop, skip and a jump across the creek’s famous stepping stones along with a whole host of unspoilt beaches, charming coastal towns and villages and glorious gardens all within easy access.

In a tucked away location offering peace and privacy, Tanglewood really is your little piece of heaven on earth.

Take the garden path that winds its way up to the door where a true Cornish welcome awaits you. The entrance hall provides the perfect storage area for coats, walking boots and any additional holiday kit that you need and the country-style kitchen comes equipped to delight. The sitting/dining-room is utterly charming, decorated in restful tones, with a toasty wood-burner, an internet TV which, whilst not connected with an aerial, you will be able to stream channels, and those wonderful views over the river. With a useful utility-area and stylish shower-room this completes the ground floor accommodation.

Upstairs the three beautifully appointed boutique-style bedrooms all offer wonderful views of the setting, and there is also a family bathroom ideal for those who long for a leisurely soak!

The cottage is surrounded by mature south facing gardens – you can find a sunny spot most of the day. To the side of the house, a stone walled patio with a large garden table and seating is the perfect place for al fresco dining. To the front of the house, at the top of a gently sloping lawn enclosed by laurel hedging, a terrace with lounge seating provides a great place to relax with a glass of wine and watch the comings and goings on the river.

The village has a wonderful community spirit with a thriving shop, tea-room, traditional pub and a host of events throughout the year. Be sure to pack your walking boots as this area is a rambler’s paradise. You only have to walk to the bottom of the garden to join the one that leads along the river estuary, through Ethy Woods and out to the coast, or you may decide to have some fun on the water and explore the river inlets by kayak or canoe. For further adventure on foot or by pedal power, head to the network of trails at Cardinham Woods and Lanhydrock Estate, with its fine country house, parkland and gardens. The fashionable waterside town of Fowey with its stylish boutiques and galleries and host of eateries is close by, as are the antiques town of Lostwithiel and the hilltop castle ruins of Restormel, and it’s not much further to the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan or the historic harbour of Charlestown (Poldark!).
