Set in the lane that leads down to sandy Porthcurnick Beach where you will find the famous Hidden Hut beach cafe, Halcyon is an enticing destination for a coastal holiday. This spacious, traditionally furnished house has wonderful sea and countryside views and with close access to the coastal path you can easily walk south to picturesque Portscatho village or head north towards Pendower Beach and Nare Head.

The fully enclosed rear garden which in summer enjoys the afternoon and evening sun has lots of space for children and the family dog to have fun and let off steam.

There are two bedrooms each with their own bathrooms upstairs and a twin bedroom and shower-room downstairs so the property is suited to couples or family groups, however please be aware that family groups with children are restricted to four adults and two children (including a baby) only.

Surprisingly for a rural location there are three great places to eat out within walking distance. The Rosevine Hotel welcomes families and restaurant diners are able to use the swimming pool at certain times; for that special meal out there is The Driftwood with its Michelin starred restaurant and of course The Hidden Hut cafe on the beach which serves outdoor cooked food, do look out for their popular ticketed feast nights during the year.

Curgurrell farm shop is just up the road selling fresh eggs, artisan bread, home-grown vegetables and locally-caught fish and shellfish so perfect for picking up some Cornish ingredients for the barbecue.

And for those days out why not take a ferry trip from St Mawes to Falmouth, hire a boat and explore the River Fal, or head off and enjoy one of the many stunning gardens such as Trelissick or The Lost Gardens of Heligan; there is plenty for everyone to enjoy nearby.
