Jasmine Shepherd's Hut

Tucked down a country lane between the little county city of Truro and the sailing mecca of Falmouth, Jasmine is a lovely oak-built shepherd's hut from the renowned Somerset-based Blackdown Shepherd Huts. With a deluxe double bed, a small dining-area and a beautifully designed, hand-made kitchen, this idyllic retreat ticks all the right boxes. The small sink has a view of the orchard, there's a two-ring halogen hob, microwave, a fridge with ice-box (for those oh-so-important ice cubes!) and all of the essential equipment for simple holiday meals.

Right beside the hut is its very own shower-cabin; modern, meticulously clean and spacious. There is a double shower cubicle, WC, wash-basin, a wall-mounted heater and all the towels you will need for your stay - bath mat, bath towels, hand towels and flannels (separate towels are also provided for using in the swimming pool).

Jasmine is nestled within the grounds of The Emerald, an award-winning zero carbon eco development, set in five acres of grounds sheltered by trees and hedging (so plenty of birdsong and the occasional glimpse of deer and squirrels). There is a useful Tesla charging point for electric cars at The Emerald (please bring your own adaptor for other makes). The owners politely ask that you state on arrival if you plan to take advantage of this service and to pay them via cash or bank transfer before departure. There is access to the big indoor heated swimming pool (shared with the five hi-spec, super-insulated on-site cedar-clad holiday houses - Coast, Drift, Cedar, Fern, Willow, and The Gatehouse, a more traditional holiday cottage), with a gym and tennis court (all-level coaching is available from an experienced national level player/coach, please book/pay on-site on arrival) and an ornamental lake to wander around for those wishing to just chill out and relax. Please note, you can book a 1.5 hour session per day at the swimmimg pool, the system is explained in the property. In addition, there is a dreamy new spa room offering CACI treatments which work to plump and tone the skin, as well as a bespoke massage service, both can be booked in advance of your stay.

Located within the orchard, Jasmine's nearest neighbour is the second shepherd's hut, Juniper, but both have their own private outdoor areas and do not overlook each other. There is space for sitting-out and you even have your own barbecue if you get the urge to sizzle some locally sourced meat or fresh-from-the-sea fish.
