Lane Cottage is a perfect Exmoor bolthole, tucked into a little square in the centre of the lovely market town of Dulverton.

The cottage is really cosy with a multi-burner in the huge inglenook fireplace at its heart and a cheerful galley-style kitchen leading to a very private enclosed patio at the rear. The spacious double bedroom and the shower-room look out over an oasis of hidden gardens.

This semi-detached period cottage is full of character, with traditional features including low beams and lintels and steep cottage stairs.

The little town has a great choice of shops, cafes and restaurants and there is a lovely picnic spot by the River Barle, just a short stroll from the cottage.

In Dulverton you will find Exmoor National Park Centre, where you can check out the best walking routes within Exmoor National Park, whether gentle or challenging.

The area is stunning, whatever the season and pretty Lane Cottage is the perfect base from which to explore it. Exmoor landmarks that are a must to visit are Tarr Steps for a glimpse of ancient times, Landacre Bridge beyond Withypool for riverside picnics, Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor's highest point for stunning views and Dunster, a medieval town close to the coast with a towering National Trust castle.

Or you can simply park in one of the many areas between Dulverton and Withypool and stride off across open moorland - lovely for your dog too but do keep it on a lead, as you will no doubt come across some of the famous Exmoor ponies as well as a wealth of other wildlife.
