Oliver’s Cottage is a pretty period property in Withypool, a traditional village at the heart of Exmoor National Park with a shop, seasonal tea-room, riverside picnic-area and pub only a few minutes' walk away. There is a large enclosed sheltered garden, sunny patio and summer-house. For extra flexibility there is a sofa bed in the second sitting-room, with direct access (via one step) to the downstairs shower-room, which is perfect for guests who prefer ground floor accommodation. The spacious sociable dining/living-area has French windows out to the gardens, which give a real awareness of the generous outside space and the landscape beyond.

Oliver’s Cottage is an ideal choice as a holiday base in this special area.

Discover the wilds of Exmoor and return to a hearty supper (there is a range cooker, hob and a microwave, as well as the Rayburn) home-cooked with ingredients from the traditional local shops in nearby Dulverton – then relax by the roaring wood-burner. You can also order provisions in advance from Withypool's own village shop. There is a seasonal tea-room too with delicious cakes to enjoy after a long walk on the moors.

The picnic-area by the river is great for children as the water is shallow – though please still supervise! Another lovely picnic-area is at Landacre Bridge, just a few miles away. Or perhaps take a summer stroll to the river that runs through the village and try out the friendly local pub.
