Perched high above sandy Portmellon cove, the views from this modern, single-storey detached property are stunning. Large picture windows in the spacious open plan living-room let the light flood in, and showcase the far-reaching countryside view with the sea in the distance. Decorated in a contemporary style, Netherway is an ideal home-from-home for enjoying the delights of a real Cornish holiday.

A large wooden deck, accessed from every room, runs almost the length of the cottage providing a delightful setting for relaxing meals or evening drinks, and overlooks a small grassed-area below. The coastal footpath passes close by and Mevagissey is a 10 minute stroll away, a bustling working harbour with fishing boats, ancient smugglers’ pubs, cosy tea-rooms, and narrow streets with all manner of fascinating shops.

Netherway is a comfortable and stylishly furnished home with contemporary sofas flanking an open fire in the sitting-area, lovely for cooler evenings or winter breaks, and a 50" Smart TV perfect for those quieter evenings. The dining-table is set before the view, a wonderful spot for leisurely breakfasts while making plans for the day. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a breakfast-bar for informal meals. The bedrooms include a 'zip and link' (super-king or twin) room, twin room and a king-size double en suite room, allowing flexibility of accommodation, so perfect for families. There are books and games and children’s tableware showing how welcome families are.

Exploring from here is easy, with Portmellon beach – think sandcastles, seaweed and rock pools – a five minute walk away, and Mevagissey harbour a 10 minute walk in the other direction (both downhill from Netherway but the steep hills make longer journeys on the way back!). The coastal footpath passes nearby, great for explorers and those walking dogs. This is a stunning part of the Cornish coastline and walkers will often see unforgettable sights, be it fishing boats heading home after a day at sea, dolphins leaping out in the bay or superb red and golden sunsets. There are more lovely walks along the nearby Pentewan valley and Ropehawn Nature Reserve, with many Cornish gardens providing miles of pathways amid the most spectacular horticultural settings: The Lost Gardens of Heligan are just outside the village, Tregrehan, Trewithen and Caerhays Castle Gardens are a short drive away, while Trelissick, Glendurgan and Trebah Gardens can be easily reached via the King Harry ferry. The Eden Project which offers an inspirational day out with something to fascinate all ages, is just half an hour away.

A small, well-behaved dog is welcome at Netherway (but please remember Owners are responsible for clearing up after their pets).
