'Stunning retreat' is the perfect definition of The Ship House and its enclosed acre of private, well-established gardens and covered ponds.

This lovely detached property lies close to Porth Kidney’s magnificent sandy beach and Lelant’s renowned links golf course, and is just a short walk from all the village amenities including an excellent pub and a shop. There is even a little railway station, from where a delightful train journey with the most striking coastal views will take you to nearby St Ives with its galleries, shops and restaurants.

Many original features have been retained, including the wooden flooring in the living-areas and the stone flags in the kitchen/diner and main kitchen – where the warmth and comfort of the big red Aga makes this the ideal property for a family gathering at any time of year.

Two spacious sitting-rooms provide space for both children and adults to relax, and the games-room, with a pool table and table-football, offers more room to spread out. A staircase leads up to the four large bedrooms, each with king-size or versatile ‘zip and link’ beds. The luxurious family bathroom boasts a roll-top bath, as does the en suite in the main bedroom.

The wonderful garden is set on a number of levels, with a small waterfall, two covered ponds, a barbecue-area, two terraces and a lawn which leads to a summer-house – perfect for everyone to enjoy their own pursuits. However, if exploring is your preference, there are some wonderful walks and beautiful beaches, including Carbis Bay and St Ives, on your doorstep.

A short drive away is Marazion, home of the magnificent St Michael’s Mount, also the harbour town of Mousehole and the surf schools and beaches at Gwithian and Sennen.
