From the moment you arrive at Lawn End you will be captivated by your eclectic surroundings. The ground floor living space is open plan, perfect for sociable holidays. The living-room area has comfy sofas, ideal for relaxing after a busy beach day and the dining-table sits in-between, next to the kitchen. Fully equipped, the kitchen has all you need to cook a holiday meal including the all-important dishwasher. The bedrooms are found off the hallway from the kitchen, bedroom one has a comfy king-size double bed and the luxury of an en suite shower-room, ideal for a refreshing shower after a busy beach day. Bedroom two is another lovely king-size room and sits next to the family bathroom with bath and shower over. A snug offers a little sanctuary, a quiet space for a peaceful read.
The twin bedroom sits in the eaves of the house and is accessed via a steep ladder/staircase. Teenagers will adore this space however because of the stairs and limited headroom we advise this room is only suitable for older children and not adults or young children.
Outside, the secluded front garden is simply gorgeous. An oasis of tranquillity and peace, days could be spent simply sitting in the island sunshine enjoying the fresh air. The sitting-room opens out onto a delightful, decked area with a pretty pergola and outdoor seating, the perfect place for al fresco dining from dawn until dusk. With all the village amenities close at hand and the beach mere stone's throw away, Lawn End has all you need for a blissful island getaway.
Seaview is a simply charming village with traditional village store offering the freshest of island produce and several interesting places to dine. Lily's cafe serves great freshly brewed coffee, cakes, pastries and sandwiches made to order, perfect for beach picnics. The Old Fort overlooking the Solent has fabulous views and a super menu created using local produce. The Seaview Hotel has a characterful bar and more formal dining for special occasions so there's plenty of choice when it comes to dining out. Water sports enthusiasts will love the local beaches with Seagrove Bay being a firm favourite. At low tide an expanse of flat sand and shingle appears, ideal for sandcastle building, rock pooling and swimming in the sheltered waters. A long, flat promenade takes you along the waterfront to the town of Ryde where you will find an eclectic assortment of shops and restaurants.
Seaview is a great place for a car free holiday but if you do choose to travel further afield try Bembridge, a pretty village just a 10-minute drive away where you will find the oldest surviving windmill on the island and a spectacular lifeboat station. West Wight is worth a visit and the journey along Military Road is spectacular. Head for the iconic Needles and for a close-up view take the chairlift and a ferryboat. Paddle boarders and kayakers should try Freshwater Bay, a beautiful beach with crystal clear waters and an interesting coastline of coves and caves to discover. Osborne House in East Cowes is stunning. Once the home of Queen Victoria and now open to the public a day can be spent exploring the house, extensive gardens and private beach where the Queen's bathing hut can be found. However you plan to spend your blissful island days, Lawn End has all you need for an enjoyable holiday.
