Avon beach, Christchurch Harbour, the New Forest National Park and the Jurassic Coast are all nearby to this holiday bolthole. The cool shades of blue and the plantation shutters evoke thoughts of sunshine and the seaside. The ocean is just a 10 minute walk, which will take you to Avon beach or Mudeford Quay.

All on one level, the open plan interior creates a very sociable space where all the family can be together. There are three bedrooms, one with the addition of a compact en suite and a shower-room, offering stylish and flexible accommodation. A bonus room off the kitchen is a useful multi-purpose space, combining the facilities of both a games-room and a utility-room, with plenty of room to store bikes. The wall-mounted Smart TV in the open plan living-room offers Netflix, a perfect addition for those family film nights spent on the comfy sofas, with seating for six.

This is the ideal base to take advantage of the surrounding attractions or simply relax in the comfort of the enclosed garden, which your dog can also enjoy.

There are some fabulous walks from your doorstep - around the edge of the harbour into the town of Christchurch, with its magnificent Priory and some great restaurants and pubs or alternatively, Avon beach, where you will find The Noisy Lobster serving local seafood.

A short boat trip across the mouth of Christchurch Harbour takes you to Mudeford Sandbank, where you will find some of the most expensive beach huts in the country and the Beach House Cafe. Hengistbury Head beckons from here, a Stone Age and Iron Age archaeological site, labelled as an Ancient Monument. The view from the top of the Head is spectacular; Christchurch Harbour and Priory, across the Solent to the Isle of Wight and The Needles, Bournemouth Bay and over to Old Harry Rocks, the beginning of the Jurassic Coast. There is so much to explore.

The nearby New Forest National Park has miles of open heathland, ancient woodland, footpaths and cycle trails; bike hire is available at Brockenhurst and Burley, if you are feeling energetic and really want to cover some miles.

The Georgian town of Lymington is just up the coast, on the international sailing calendar for Cowes Week; you can take a day trip from here to the Isle of Wight. If you feel like taking to the water you can catch the Sandbanks car ferry across the mouth of Poole harbour to explore the Isle of Purbeck. The Jurassic Coast begins at Old Harry Rocks, a very pleasant stroll from the ferry.

If you want to escape to an island, take a boat trip to Brownsea Island to see red squirrels, peacocks and an array of overwintering or summer breeding birds on the lagoon (this is closed during some winter months).
