The pretty Dorset village of Drimpton is set in lovely countryside, a short drive inland from the stunning Jurassic Coast. This original school house has been converted into extremely comfortable holiday accommodation, where guests of all ages can enter into the spirit of the old school with the fun playground games that are provided.

The cottage offers a contemporary kitchen/diner, a spacious sitting-room overlooking fields, a large shower-room and two bedrooms (one with a low bed to accommodate the characterful sloping ceilings).

The attractive village pub is next door so you don't have to stroll far for an evening drink or dinner, the pub has seasonal opening hours and bookings are advised, particularly for Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

The Old School Gables adjoins the owners' home but is completely private, with a separate driveway and fully enclosed outside space.

There are plenty of excellent walks in the local area or energetic guests can tackle the challenge of the South West Coast Path. The historic market town of Bridport and the town of Lyme Regis, with its famous Cobb harbour, are close by. Children in particular, will enjoy the opportunity to hunt for fossils on the beach at Charmouth – and if they happen to be unsuccessful, there is a wonderful fossil shop right at the side of the beach!

Inland Dorset is just as stunning, with Iron Age forts blending into the landscape – Eggardon Hill just outside Bridport and Maiden Castle near Dorchester are the largest.

Dorset really celebrates its local produce and you will find some lovely farm shops where you can treat yourselves or buy presents to take home with you.
