Stable Tallet is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty close to east Devon’s stunning Jurassic Coast. Set on a friendly working farm, this detached home-from-home has the bonus of a hot tub on the sunny terrace, a garden with children’s play-area, and a separate shared games-room. The spacious and flexible accommodation overlooks open farmland, and as well as three upstairs bedrooms there is a bedroom with a shower downstairs.

Guests share the farm’s coarse fishing lake (not within the cottage grounds) with two other properties, which is stocked with roach, carp and perch. The beach at Seaton and the Axe estuary’s nature reserves are very close by and for local shops, pubs and cafes, Colyton is a five minute drive.

From this ideal base, you can easily explore both Devon and Dorset. The wonderful stretch of east Devon coastline here has a chain of pretty fishing villages such as Beer and Branscombe and traditional seaside towns such as Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton.

Crossing the border into Dorset, just a few miles away is Lyme Regis with the famous Cobb Harbour and a lovely sandy beach. Beyond that is Charmouth which is of course ever popular with families for fossil hunting. Take a boat trip out into Lyme Bay for a spot of mackerel fishing or just to admire the coastline from the sea.

The countryside inland is beautiful here too, dotted with unspoilt villages and little market towns such as Axminster or Bridport with its weekly market to browse in. Honiton is another great place for a visit with its reputation for antiques shops and the Cathedral City of Exeter is another good day out.

If you simply want to switch off and forget about the car, the terrace hot tub, garden and games-room will be all that you need.
