The Granary

If you were looking for cottages like The Granary, how about trying these:

Set deep in the heart of beautiful north Devon countryside and with easy access to the golden beaches and glorious seascapes of both north Devon and Cornwall, this pretty cottage is part of Town Farm - a small collection of properties centred around a cobbled courtyard, and perfect for a couple looking for a peaceful getaway. You can even bring your four-legged friend who will be welcomed with open arms!

All on one level above the utility-room but accessed from street level, The Granary has everything you need for a relaxing break. Double height ceilings and a Velux window make the living area light and bright, with exposed beams adding to the charm and character of the place. A comfy sofa (with a dog throw provided) with Smart TV is the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring and the handy folding dining-table optimises space. The small but perfectly formed kitchen is ideal for cooking up a holiday feast and you'll find plenty of local roadside stalls to stock up on fresh produce. The beautifully styled bedroom is a peaceful oasis where you can relax and recharge. The bathroom is quite splendid and has a fabulous roll-top bath for a soak or a rainfall shower. The dressing-area has a wardrobe and tallboy, plus additional storage space.

Along with a traditional clome oven there is shared access to a utility-room, not only handy additional storage but a washing machine, tumble-drier and freezer (with a dedicated drawer for The Granary guests' use). Being dog lovers, everything has been considered with two dog crates which can be borrowed and used in The Granary. You will also find lots of throws that can be used on the furniture so the family dog can enjoy snuggles at the end of the day allowing you to really feel at home during your stay. There is also a shared games barn with table football and air hockey to keep everyone entertained.

Outside, the pretty orchard is the ideal place to wander and let the dog have a run, the orchard is shared with guests staying in Greystones. You are also invited to enjoy the owners private upper woodland walk, a real treat for those nature lovers. Or simply sit on the wooden bench in the orchard and absorb the sounds of the countryside all around. In the evenings watch the sunset by the fire-pit or perhaps use the barbecue for some al fresco dining, the perfect end to the day.

The friendly owners and their lovely dogs Flint and Tarka are perfectly placed in the adjoining farmhouse should you need any assistance but are also happy to let you enjoy your holiday without interruption and delight in all that this wonderful location has to offer!

There are resident bats who live at Town Farm (four species). The bats are mainly resident between May-October, and you may see and hear the bats around sunset as they prepare to leave their roosts for night-time feeding. They return to their roosts in the early hours of the morning, around 2-3am. The Granary attic in particular is a maternity roost where pregnant bats have their babies, and you may be fortunate enough to see the young bats 'learning to fly' around our courtyard on a summer evening.

The Granary is one of two fabulous properties at Town Farm, the other being Greystones (4903) so if you are looking for a holiday as a larger group The Granary and Greystones can be booked together and have a handy interconnecting door.
