Soak up the sunshine from the sunny terrace surrounded by lovely mature gardens, ponds and woodlands. Discover beautiful picnic spots along the country paths that lead direct from the cottage, or bring your bikes as the property is situated directly on the round the island cycle route and has plenty of secure bike storage.
If you find sunshine in short supply there is also a converted barn, now a games-room, off the pool area with table-tennis and miniature billiards table, or simply retire to the peace and tranquility of Sunset Cottage and immerse yourself in a good book.
The sitting and dining areas have an open plan configuration, with plenty of soft seating for everyone to relax on after a day out exploring the Island. The separate kitchen has a door leading to the front garden and further terrace areas for al fresco dining.
The cottage has three bedrooms, a twin bedroom on the ground floor with en suite shower-room and two further double bedrooms on the first floor with an additional family bathroom. The main bedroom has a spectacular large window for catching glimpses of the amazing sunsets towards Tennyson Downs, which led the owners to the cottage name. All the bedrooms have been finished to a high standard and offer flexibility for a range of guests.
There is plenty of space for the kids to run around or watch the chickens as they go about their business - roaming free in the adjacent garden areas with fresh eggs in supply.
There is parking for two cars further along the drive, behind the cottage in the gravelled courtyard.
The renowned Military Road is a short drive from Sunset Cottage, starting in Chale and ending in Freshwater Bay, boasting views of some of the most spectacular coastline on the Isle of Wight, with many viewpoints to stop at along the way and the odd ice cream van! There are plenty of places to enjoy a bite to eat on your travels; Yarmouth Town, about a twenty minute drive away, is located at the mouth of the small Western Yar river. It has a good selection of pubs and restaurants to choose from, along with some boutique shops and several cafes. The western side of the Island is dotted with charming villages, all of course with their own country pubs.
