Within walking distance of the village store, pub and the beach, it is ideally located for you to explore the surrounding area on foot with wonderful coastal walks to choose from. Lanthorn Cottage welcomes a dog so the whole family can spend the day on St Helens beach soaking up the sun, why not visit the cafe for the obligatory holiday ice cream.
The kitchen is modern and well laid out with a breakfast-bar accommodating four plus a separate dining-table for six in the open plan sitting/dining-room. With plenty of soft seating for everyone and a log-effect electric wood-burner to warm your toes, this makes Lanthorn Cottage a perfect retreat all year round. All three bedrooms are on the first floor, a double bedroom, a ‘zip and link’ king-size or twin bedroom and a bunk bedroom. The family shower-room is on the ground floor.
At the end of the day you can relax in the garden toasting marshmallows over the fire-pit whilst enjoying a well deserved glass of wine. A walk along the harbour takes you to Bembridge village where you will find a great selection of local shops including a fishmonger, bakery, butcher and farm shop. The harbour is lined with quirky houseboats, one of which has been turned into a cafe specialising in locally-caught crab and with outdoor seating overlooking the harbour, this is a fantastic place to stop for lunch.
There are many beaches in and around Bembridge and St Helens so you will be spoilt for choice and as the Island is so easy to get around, why not explore the west coast where the landscape and sea views become more dramatic. There is private parking for one car directly in front of the cottage.
