Situated on the edge of St Stephens, a village that borders the historic market town of Launceston with wonderful views towards the Norman Castle in the town, Castle View is the perfect location for exploring all that Cornwall and Devon have to offer. Ideal for family and groups, your days will be spent exploring the majestic moors, having fun at the seaside, discovering maritime and mining heritage and marvelling at historic houses and glorious gardens.

Set in a quiet cul-de-sac, this home-from-home property offers you a warm welcome so you will feel relaxed from the minute you step inside. Take time to enjoy hearty holiday breakfasts in the sunny kitchen/breakfast-room and, for more formal dining, there's also a separate dining-room with patio doors leading out to the enclosed garden – a lovely spot for supper on balmy evenings. Outside there's also a storage-area should you wish to bring your bikes or surfing gear with you. The homely sitting-room offers plenty of room for everyone to chill out and relax and, for those who may need to catch up on some work whilst they are away, there's also a little office so you can work in peace.

Launceston is a great little town, steeped in history with a castle dating back to Norman times along with a good selection of high street and independent shops. There is also an excellent choice of restaurants, pubs and cafes, so you never have to worry about cooking. If you want to check your handicap, you are within walking distance of Launceston Golf Club and if textiles and quilting are more your thing, you can head off to the renowned Cowslip workshops – where there's also a delightful teashop and cafe, so you can refuel for the walk back again!

There are great countryside walks right on the doorstep and, further afield, the wild rugged landscapes of Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor are a walker's paradise. Grand designs of bygone days and beautiful gardens are aplenty with Cotehele, Castle Drogo and Lanhydrock House to name but a few and the coasts beckon with surfers riding the waves at Bude, Widemouth Bay and Polzeath on the north and maritime history galore at Charlestown and Plymouth on the south.

Children are sure to enjoy a ride on the local steam railway that winds its way along the glorious Kensey Valley, stopping off at New Mills Farm Park, where you can pet the animals.

If you enjoy culinary delights Cowslip workshop, Tre Pol and Pen along with Lifton Strawberry Fields might be worth a visit and all near Launceston. Homeleigh Garden Centrre at Dutson offers a wide range of retail opportunities including fishing tackle and gardening products.
