SingleWith fabulous panoramic views over the rooftops of Polruan and the sparkling water of the River Fowey, and Fowey itself on the other side of the estuary, this lovely Victorian seaside home offers spacious, light and airy accommodation.
The comings and goings of the sailing boats and passenger ferry on the river provide the backdrop to the pretty enclosed garden and patio as well as from almost every room in the house. Fairview's stunning position in a quiet traffic-free part of the town with historic pedestrian footpaths all the way down to the shops and pubs on the quay will give you a taste of Polruan's history as a traditional Cornish fishing village. This is an excellent base for discovering Cornwall.
A parking space for one car is very kindly provided in a private car park in the village, 225 yards from the cottage – so you can have a car-free holiday – setting off on foot from Polruan along the South West Coast Path towards Polperro, strolling alongside the river, or crossing over by passenger ferry from Polruan's quay to Fowey for a browse amongst the shops and a wonderful view back across the river to Polruan and your own holiday base at Fairview.
This is a good choice whatever the time of year – exhilarating beach walks when the waves are wild, or lazy days on the sand in some of the loveliest settings that Cornwall has to offer. Simply staying put at Fairview and watching the activities on the river far below from the garden, with a glass of wine of course, is a holiday in itself.
