With an open plan kitchen/diner leading through to a light-filled sitting-room with comfy corner sofa and plasma television, this lovely house with a second floor den (with TV and Wii games console) is a perfect place to retreat to after a busy day of discovery. Outside are two decked-areas, one with an outdoor shower - ideal for rinsing off the sand after a busy beach day.
All in all, Driftwood is a welcoming family and dog friendly holiday home, perfectly situated for exploring this fabulous part of Cornwall.
Close by, the West Cornwall Golf Course, the oldest golf club in Cornwall, welcomes visitors and there is a village pub serving family favourites. A short train ride takes you to gorgeous Carbis Bay and onto perennially popular St Ives. Do explore the many galleries including The Tate and Barbara Hepworth, browse the little shops and choose a favourite restaurant. If you are lucky, you may even spot a seal along the harbour wall. The beaches aren't bad either!
A trek around the most westerly tip of Cornwall, the Penwith peninsula, to take in the amazing and breathtaking views - even on a cloudy day - is worth the effort. The Minack Theatre at Porthcurno justifies a trip even if you don't stop to take in a performance and iconic St Michael's Mount at Marazion is well worth crossing the causeway for when the tide is out. Just don't be too long or you will get your toes wet on the return journey.
