The Malt House, built in 1825 and Grade II Listed, is situated in the centre of Crantock, a short distance from the village green and just half a mile from the sandy, dog-friendly beach and rolling surf.
This traditionally presented detached property still retains many original features, with dovecotes, beamed ceilings and partial slate floors. Although it is furnished with neutral decor, the rustic influence is still evident. Old and unusual doors link the congenial sitting and living-rooms, and the decor, lighting and furniture all contribute to the atmosphere and comfort.
The sitting-room, with its large granite fireplace housing a multi-burner, has steps leading down to the kitchen/breakfast-room where many convivial family meals will be enjoyed around the big dining-table. A wide, glazed door opens outside from the breakfast-area to the small, sunny enclosed patio. Elsewhere on the ground floor is a games-room, suitable for the younger members of the party to try their hand at pool or table-football for a bit of fun. From the slate entrance hall, the staircase ascends to the galleried landing and five bedrooms, all with en suite facilities.
The facilities provided, together with such a convenient location, make an ideal retreat for families and friends wishing to holiday together. The dramatic north Cornish coast, with its sheltered coves alternating with magnificent soaring cliffs, as well as many other attractions, are all within easy reach.
