Just outside the pretty east Devon town of Colyton and less than three miles to the beach at Seaton on the east Devon Jurassic Coast, family and dog-friendly Sceat Cottage enjoys unspoilt panoramic countryside views.

This contemporary, semi-detached cottage (in a row of three) is approached by a sloping brick path across the front lawn. There is a cheerful open plan kitchen/diner, three steps up to the main sitting-room/playroom and French windows onto the patio. Chromecasts are provided which allow you to stream films, music and videos from any of your devices to the TVs, so family film nights are a must when at Sceat Cottage. On the ground floor are a double bedroom, shower-room and a cosy 'snug' with a wood-burner. Upstairs are three further bedrooms, one en suite, and the family bathroom. As well as the front patio there is an enclosed gravelled rear terrace - great for sheltered barbecues. The outside space is also great for allowing your dog to enjoy this fabulous environment, with an enclosed courtyard (please note, not fully dog proof) and a fully open front garden to let off steam, your four-legged friend will be delighted.

Lyme Regis, Honiton and the fabulous Jurassic coastline and beaches at Charmouth and Beer are nearby. Fans of the crime drama ‘Broadchurch’ might recognise West Bay, where filming for the series took place. You also have the magical village of Colyton on your doorstep, literally within walking distance. Colyton is less than a kilometre walk down the hill (please note no pavements) with an hourly bus service (#885) that stops directly outside the property. Enjoying a cream tea or some fabulous local produce is a real treat in this beautifully unspoilt village.

For those with a culinary interest, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage is a short drive away and there is also his local produce store and canteen in Axminster. For history lovers, the National Trust’s Shute Barton (limited opening) is just down the road.
