Twiga

If you were looking for cottages like Twiga, how about trying these:

Looking for a get-away-from-it-all escape? Then look no further! Swahili for Giraffe, gorgeous Twiga is set in a tree-lined meadow at the end of a long, unmade track (where the adventure begins!) with only it's brother, Tembo, as a near neighbour, who sits just beyond.

Decorated in an eclectic style, there are reclaimed pallet walls and scaffold board bed frames, apple crate storage mixed with African-inspired colours of burnt orange and ochre (the Owners run a safari tour company so know a thing or two about luxury glamping and style). The twin and double bedrooms are situated at the back of the tent and there is also a double daybed in the living area (with full-size sprung mattress) that can be used for lounging on during the day then screened with curtains and turned into a double bed at night. Also at the back of the tent is a big full-size en suite shower-room with hot and cold running water, a double shower cubicle, wash-basin and proper flushing loo.

At the front of the tent, the living area has a sofa and chairs strewn with soft cushions, a rug on the floor and a dining area for leisurely holiday meals, while the deck outside overlooks the glamping site and countryside beyond. The well-equipped kitchen-area has a Belfast sink (with cold running water) set into a chunky wooden work surface, a fridge with ice-box, electric kettle and toaster and a two-ring camping gas stove, backed up by the wood-fired range cooker which provides both cooking facilities and oodles of warmth to keep you toasty in the tent.

So, what will you do with yourselves while you're here? You can roam around the meadow and adjoining lanes, walk to the Miners Arms in Mithian, cycle into St Agnes for a leisurely lunch or cream tea, or take your surf boards to the wonderful beaches at Perranporth, Trevaunance, Chapel Porth and Porthtowan, all fabulous for surf and sand and all lifeguarded from Easter to the end of October.

When you've done all that, why not sit back beside your fire pit, toast some marshmallows and admire the multitude of twinkling stars in the dark night sky? The owner can even offer yoga/mindfulness sessions for individuals or families and beauty treatments too (what better way to fully relax and embrace the holiday spirit!). Holiday bliss is to be found here at Wrinklers Wood.
