This unspoilt gem of a village is hidden away in the bends of the river but makes a wonderful home away from home, filled with thatched cottages and friendly locals to chat with, you’ll feel comfortable in no time. Whilst staying in a self catering cottage, treat yourself to a meal out at the Ferry Boat Inn, known as the FBI to locals. Here you’ll find a friendly, welcoming atmosphere to visitors of all ages, a good menu to graze on and an amazing view on to the river. You might never want to leave.
River ferries will take you pretty much anywhere along the River Dart from Dittisham. To get to Dartmouth via boat will take around half an hour and the journey offers some beautiful scenery to enjoy en route. Travelling by boat is something special for all the family to get excited about.
With Dartmouth to the south, you have plenty to discover using Dittisham as your base. For an exciting day out, take the water ferry across to Kingswear to see the river from a new perspective and find a new place to explore. Dittisham is directly across the river from the Greenway estate. Formerly owned by Agatha Christie, now by the National Trust, the estate is a beautiful haven of green to wander at your own pace.
