In an idyllic location on the edge of the moor, this comfortable barn conversion, on a working farm, is ideal for exploring Dartmoor. Steps lead to the front door and inside exposed stone, beams and a rustic conservatory are a few of the features. The small enclosed garden is largely gravelled and terraced. A wood-burning stove and full central heating welcome out-of-season guests. After a bracing day exploring Dartmoor on foot or horseback, this is a lovely retreat. An interesting variety of floor levels lead from the open plan living area, where the most has been made of the space, to a raised dais. Through double doors you enter the first bedroom, overlooking the cottage garden. The main bedroom is above with a high-vaulted ceiling. The views around Fore Stoke Linhay and the Owners’ farmhouse next door are spectacular, over the Dart Valley and National Trust woods (see photograph showing the view from the upstairs bedroom window).
