The Surf Club (0.2 miles)
Former pro-surfer Nick Tiscoe heads up the team of highly qualified and experienced BSA instructors at The Surf Club, specialising in private one-to-one and group lessons for ages six and up. They're open all year round and even provide heated wetsuits, boots and gloves to keep you toasty in the winter waves. New for 2010 are All Day Surf Experiences and Surf, Spa and Bar days. The Surf Club is based between The Scarlet and Bedruthan Steps Hotels, overlooking Mawgan Porth beach, near Newquay.

Carnewas Tearoom and Garden (0.5 miles)
A National Trust cafe on the cliffs above Bedruthan Steps. The homemade cakes here are to die for.

Mawgan Porth Beach (0.5 miles)
This sandy beach is popular with families and surfers. There is easy access, with parking, toilets, cafes and shops near by.

Merlin Golf Club (0.7 miles)
There are great views toward the sea from this hilltop heathland course on the North Cornwall coast.

Bre-Pen Farm (0.8 miles)

Bedruthan Steps Beach (0.9 miles)
This dramatic beach takes it's name from the slate outcrops that litter it, said to have been put there by a giant, Bedruthan, and used as stepping stones. At low tide, the sand stretches for over a mile, but watch out for the tide coming in - there is potential for being cut off.
