The Old Foundry
1971 is no longer with usIf you were looking for cottages like The Old Foundry, how about trying these:
The Old Foundry (just shown to the left of the photograph) dates from the mid-1800s but is now a stylish, terraced town house, spread over three floors above the River Tavy. Approached by an external staircase from the underground car park (with a tight narrow entrance this is not suitable for large vehicles), the ground floor houses a kitchen and the sitting/dining-room, which has a step to a balcony overhanging the river – ideal for morning coffee, although there is another patio to the side of the house. The first floor bedroom has a wrought iron bedstead and river views. There is also a bathroom and dressing-room on this floor. On the second floor is the attic bedroom where guests can have either a 6’ double or twin beds – take care if tall as headroom is limited. Tavistock is an attractive market town with one or two excellent restaurants and a busy pannier market, and Dartmoor is on the doorstep. Guests can enjoy the best of both worlds – a daytime hike and a restaurant in the evening. This property is not suitable for young children or the elderly.
