Mousehole has long proved a popular holiday destination for visitors. The Queach, a terraced cottage, is found on the steep hill going out of the village and has magnificent views (see photograph) down over the harbour to Mount’s Bay and beyond; not just from the sitting-room but also from the patio high up in the terraced garden (please take care with toddlers and the elderly on the steep steps). Once used by Dylan Thomas for an overnight stay, this spacious cottage is cosy and warm. The kitchen/diner has low beams, some exposed stone and a cast iron multi-burner to add to the warmth if needed. The sitting-room, also with the original beamed ceiling, is enhanced by two attractive fire surrounds, one of which was rescued from the garden. Steep stairs lead up to a small landing with steps up or down to the pretty bedrooms, two of which enjoy superb views out across the bay. Mousehole is a bustling little village with good restaurants, galleries and pubs. A season ticket for the car park is provided.
