Picture 1 of 31. The front of this very pretty cottage.

The front of this very pretty cottage. The cosy sitting-room.The kitchen/diner.

The bright harlequin pattern tiles follow through to the sink unit around the corner. The front door opens into the sitting-room with the study off to its left. The sitting-room has a welcoming wood-burner.

The small sitting-room window looks out to the garden. There is a stable door in the dining end of the kitchen out to the garden. There is a door at the bottom of the steep stairs - useful if you have a small child or a dog.

The stairs are twisting and steep and although there is a door at the bottom of the stairs, it is not possible to install a stair-gate.This is a spacious bedroom for a cottage of this age.The pretty double bedroom.

There is a cast iron bed in the double bedroom. The bunk bedroom. The bathroom.

The utility-room (called the mud-room by the Owner), has a door from the kitchen and another to the garden. There is plenty of room for children to run around in the large grounds.Slate steps go down from the end of the driveway and the grassed walkway up to the cottage.

The seating-area of the garden is next to the cottage. There is a teak bench right outside the kitchen door for that early morning cup of coffee.Boats and lobster pots on the beach at Beesands.

The coastal path at Prawle Point. There are some spectacular views and walks around the South Hams. This is the Kingsbridge Estuary with Salcombe shown on the left. There is plenty of room to park on the driveway.

Kingsbridge is a short drive and has a wealth of interesting shops and a market on two or three days of the week. The mimosa tree in the front garden is gorgeous in the spring. There is an old wooden latch gate leading out to the road if you prefer to bring your cases in this way, rather than on the grass path.

The grassed pathway leading around from the drive to the front of the cottage.A great cafe on the beach in the summer months. The Cricket Arms in Beesands has tables outside so guests can enjoy the view.

A plaque on the outside wall states ‘The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it’ – Ralph Waldo Emerson. This quote from the American writer illustrates the Owner’s welcoming attitude. Found in the small South Hams village of Beeson, only a half-mile from the beach at Beesands and the coastal path, detached Quick’s End is delightful. Believed to date from the 17th Century, there are, as is to be expected in this quirky cottage, one or two low lintels and the stairs are very narrow and steep (please take care with toddlers and the elderly). The sitting-room has a multi-burner, ideal for out-of-season visits and there is also a small second sitting-room which doubles as a study. The kitchen/diner has mellow pine furnishings including a lovely old dresser, but the best thing about this cottage is the grounds. With garden furniture close to the house, there is also an enormous sloping grassed area where children can run around, but take care with toddlers by the small stream. *A cot is not provided, please bring your own travel cot. Please note that the changeover times are 4pm on arrival and 10am on departure.
