A plaque on the outside wall states ‘The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it’ – Ralph Waldo Emerson. This quote from the American writer illustrates the Owner’s welcoming attitude. Found in the small South Hams village of Beeson, only a half-mile from the beach at Beesands and the coastal path, detached Quick’s End is delightful. Believed to date from the 17th Century, there are, as is to be expected in this quirky cottage, one or two low lintels and the stairs are very narrow and steep (please take care with toddlers and the elderly). The sitting-room has a multi-burner, ideal for out-of-season visits and there is also a small second sitting-room which doubles as a study. The kitchen/diner has mellow pine furnishings including a lovely old dresser, but the best thing about this cottage is the grounds. With garden furniture close to the house, there is also an enormous sloping grassed area where children can run around, but take care with toddlers by the small stream. *A cot is not provided, please bring your own travel cot. Please note that the changeover times are 4pm on arrival and 10am on departure.
