A few miles from the lovely Helford River, Carnbarges is a 150 year old cottage found down a narrow Cornish lane amidst acres of lush farmland. The comfortable lilac sitting-room has a leather suite and cosy wood-burner, with the piano in the spacious hall a bonus for musical guests. The oldest part of the house is now the dining-room, where a striking dark wood dresser stands opposite two enormous inglenook fireplaces, one containing a pot-bellied stove and the other an Aga. From the kitchen, the back door leads to the wonderful landscaped, enclosed terraced garden, complete with patio and built-in barbecue. The Owners, who live nearby, are great animal lovers, and have three dogs and two cats as well as an aviary with budgies, cockatiels and parakeets. Originally a working farm, an outbuilding is still used for occasional light engineering work, but the layout of the house and garden ensures guests will enjoy the tranquility of this unspoilt part of Cornwall without being disturbed. Please note this property has a private water supply which is tested regularly.
